Norfolk celebra o Harborfest, o mais antigo festival marítimo dos EUA (Norfolk celebrates the Harborfest, the longest running free maritime festival in the US)

Norfolk na Virgínia,  conhecida por sua enorme base militar e como sede da Frota Atlântica dos Estados Unidos realiza de 9 a 11 de junho, o Harborfest. Trata-se do mais antigo festival marítimo norte-americano.

Durante três dias, o maior porto da Virgínia,  na Baia de Hampton Roads, no Oceano Atlântico e fundada pelos ingleses em 1682, se enche de turistas que chegam para participar de 30 horas de entretenimento com entrada franca.

Na Baía de Norfolk se encontram mais de 300 navios e lanchas ancoradas e os visitantes tem oportunidade de apreciar a gastronomia da cidade em 30 diferentes restaurantes.

Norfolk forma um extenso complexo portuário, juntamente com a cidade de Portsmouth, do outro lado do Rio Elisabeth e realiza pela  41a vez o Harborfest.  No proximo sábado, 10 de junho, as 21h30, acontece a espetacular queima de fogos. 

No programa consta ainda desfile de Barcos e visita aos navios. E aberto ao publico para visitas, o BAP Union do Peru, Esmeralda do Chile, U.S.G.C. Eagle (EUA). Bae Guayas, Equador, El Galeon, Espanha, Susan Constant (EUA)

No palco shows de Rusted Root, Travis Tritt & Los Lobos, bem com de Donna the Buffalo, Sister Sledge, Eric Hutchinson, US Atlanta, Fleet Band, Muddy Magnolias, The Congress, DJ Can Rock, entre outros.

(IN ENGLISH)   Norfolk, Virginia, known for its huge military base and home of the United States Atlantic Fleet, runs from June 9-11, 2017, the Harbofest. It is the oldest North-American maritime festival.

For three days, Virginia's largest port, at Hamptons Roads Bay, in the Atlantic Ocean, and founded by the English people in 1682, is filled with tourists that participates in 30 hours of free-entry entertainment.

In Norfolk there are more than 300 ships and boats anchored and visitors have the opportunity to enjoy the gastronomy of 30 different restaurants.

The city forms an extensive port complex, along with the town of Portsmouth, on the other side of the Elisabeth River.

For the 41st time the Harborfest takes place. In the next Saturday, June 10, at 9:30 p.m. there is a spectacular fireworks display.

The program lists Parade of Sails, Tall Ship Visits featuring the: BAP Union of Peru, Emerald of Chile, U.S.G.C. Eagle (USA). Bae Guayas, Ecuador, El Galeon, Spain, Susan Constant (USA).
